Tania Perry has been practicing yoga for over 15 years, initially using it as a tool to assist her to bring balance into her own life.

Coming from a solid grounding in contemporary dance and ballet, her focus is on creative sequencing. Tania ties this in with an interest in spirituality and storytelling. Her classes are playful, balancing strong progressions with soothing flows. Tania is always encouraging students to be mindful, noticing how a pose feels in the body, adapting to suit individual differences and encouraging experimentation and investigation. All the while observing with curiosity and interest how the practice effects the individual.

She believes in offering an authentic, functional yoga experience and works to support practitioners of all levels. Her motto “Drop from your head to your heart, and let your intuition be your guide”.

Where are you working from today?

Today I am working from home, my converted warehouse apartment in St Kilda. Sun is shining, space is well lit, sitting on the couch, rather than at my desk. Comfort and warmth over practicality.

What are you working on?

I am working on the theming for a  Yin Yoga and Reiki workshop that I am leading tomorrow night at my studio Humble Warrior Yoga in Abbotsford

How’s it going?

It’s going slow but steady. Procrastination in the form of peppermint tea and coconut chocolate, dishes, and vacuuming

When you get stuck, what do you do?

When i get stuck, I clean (or eat)

Who sees your earliest version / draft & at what stage?

I will show this draft to Agnes, with whom I am working with tomorrow night. She is a Reiki healer and Yin Yoga teacher. Hopefully she will feedback some ideas. We planned the sequence together, so that she can access the bodies in a non obtrusive manner. I am teaching a Yin Yoga class tonight in St Kilda as a cover for a friend, so I will try out the sequence and some of the theming on them to make sure it all flows, they can be my guinea pigs.
